Yellow Bird – healing power of singing
We evolved to sing different kinds of songs, different harmonies, different pitches to communicate. We know that in a lot of studies that have gone on very recently, that singing is another thing that reduces stress. Children love to sing. When you get children to sing, if you want them to do a meditative practice, have them sing in unison for a while. Sing a song, that’s important. We don’t sing enough. Why? Because singing wasn’t seen as something that was civilized. It was seen as something that was recreational. It was seen as something that was primitive after a while. And it was seen as only certain people do that. Now it’s absent from our societies, all societies, it’s not just Indigenous people.
