Akbari – using the ECE Report
So, the early childhood education report is used by policy makers, decision makers. It’s used in pre-service training. We see it used by educators and really helps us understand the status of the sector, the status of the workforce, the status of funding, the status of accountability measures across the country, and really helps us identify gaps in the system.
And so, the report has been utilized for policy development, evidence-based policy development across the country, and has really become a tool, prescriptive if you will, for governments to improve their early education services.
So, the Early Childhood Education Report website has all 13 provinces and territories throughout the years. The report comes out every three years. So, from 2011 until the most recent report, which is 2023, you can see the progression of all the provincial and territorial profiles. You can look at a deep dive as to what each jurisdiction is doing in terms of their inclusion policies, in terms of their funding, their learning environments. How much do educators make in every province and territory and how is that comparable to the K-12 system. So, you can do a deep dive on each of the province and territories.
