Althea

Althea has taken her 4-year-old daughter, Beatrice, to visit an old friend with a three-year-old that they haven’t seen for a long time. She later adds ‘I’m bored – can we go home?”

Ghazala is an ECE and primary caregiver for a group of 8 preschoolers. Two three-year-old girls, Kazia and Chunhua, within the group have become close friends with their families getting to know each other and arranging playdates on weekends. Another little girl, Malia, desperately wants to be part of this friendship and tries to join their play. Ghazala can see that Kazia and Chunhua are beginning to actively exclude Malia – running away when they see her and trying to hide.

Roger has taken his two-year-old son Alvin to Walmart. Alvin has a complete meltdown in the toy section when he sees an expensive motorized child-sized car.
