Williams- preconception health opportunities
I think there’s terrific opportunities for us to do better on the preconception health across Canada. And this is because we are increasingly learning that there are things that we can do: nutrition, folic acid, etcetera, that prepare us better to assume the pregnancy role. But also we know that mental health and well-being and the importance of solid relationships, learning how to negotiate your way when you’re in a young relationship or you’re a young adult, those are all really important forerunners to building successful families and having successful pregnancies, labor and deliveries and then childhood and families. So, preconception health in the broadest terms is really important in my view.
